How it works

Three phases. One clear outcome.

Phase 01
Define the objective
We start by mapping exactly what is not working and where you want to be. No vague goals, just a clear target.
Phase 02
Build the strategy
Using evidence-based tools and structured exercises, we develop a personal playbook you can actually use.
Phase 03
Lock in the gains
We track progress, troubleshoot what is slipping, and build in maintenance habits so the results stick.
What we work on

Built for what men actually deal with.

Man in focused, contemplative moment in nature

Most men arrive at Virtus carrying the same thing: a problem they have been managing alone for too long. Whether it is stress that will not quit, relationships stuck in the same patterns, or a general sense that something needs to change, the work here is practical, structured, and built around your specific situation.

We specialize in men's issues not because other clients do not matter, but because we have built an environment designed for how men actually approach change: direct, goal-oriented, and with something real to show for it at the end.

Stress and burnout
Career pressure, overload, and running on empty. We build recovery systems, not just coping strategies.
Relationship conflict
Communication breakdowns, anger that lands wrong, and patterns that keep repeating.
Anxiety and OCD
Intrusive thoughts, overthinking, and the exhaustion of managing it alone.
Recovery and addiction
Breaking cycles with a clear framework and real accountability, not shame-based approaches.
Identity and transitions
New fatherhood, career pivots, loss of direction. Rebuilding a clear sense of purpose.
Performance and focus
Discipline, procrastination, and the gap between who you are and who you want to be.

Common questions

What men typically want to know before booking.

How long does this take?
Most clients see meaningful progress in 6 to 12 sessions. We set a clear goal at the start and track toward it. This is not open-ended.
Will there be homework?
Yes, on purpose. Each session builds toward a specific exercise you apply before the next one. That is what makes the work stick.
What happens in the first session?
We map what is not working, identify the root patterns, and leave with a clear objective and a draft strategy. You will know exactly what we are working toward.
Does insurance cover this?
Yes, for Oregon clients. Aetna, Cigna, Cigna EAP, Kaiser Permanente Northwest, PacificSource, Regence BlueCross BlueShield, United Healthcare, and United Healthcare EAP are all accepted. Your copay is billed at the start of each session. Insurance is not accepted in Idaho or other states.
